Our school hosts many special days and events during the school calendar year. Some of these include Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparent's Day, Education Week, Easter Hat Parade, Pyjama Day, NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation Week, R U OK Day, Ride2School Day, 100 Days of School,

Sporting Carnivals

At Mathoura Public School, we love hosting our own sport carnivals. Our swimming carnival takes place at the local pool, while our cross country event is held along the picturesque Gulpa Creek. Our athletics carnival is held on our oval. These days are full of fun for everyone!

Sustainability

Our school is committed to sustainability through initiatives such as keeping chooks, which help reduce food waste by eating the fruit scraps collected each day and providing fresh eggs. We also promote Waste-Free Wednesday to encourage students to bring eco-friendly, waste-free lunches, and engage students in growing a variety of vegetables in our garden to foster sustainability and healthy eating habits.

Assemblies

Each week, two or more students are selected to host the assembly. Additionally, two students lead the singing of the National Anthem. Our regular assemblies are held on Friday mornings at 9:00 am. Special assemblies, such as the Easter Assembly and Education Week Assembly, also include presentations and performances by our classes.

Extra Curricular

We love providing our students with an engaging educational experience. Each year, a wide range of extracurricular opportunities are offered, including fishing, art workshops, dance, robotics, filming, cooking, gardening, and Bush Buddies.
